UN Environmental Programme
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development, and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. Ongoing effects on the planet include thermal expansion, melting of glaciers, and warming of the ocean surface, all of which are severely affecting the environment. Private committees and nations across the globe have been contributing towards improving the state of our planet, but there are only 11 years left before irreversible damage caused by climate change begins to set in. There is an immense amount of work left that is up to the delegates to decide how we ought to save the environment and how to keep humanity on our planet for longer than previously thought before.
